Shenzhen Engine AI Robotcs Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese startup specializing in embodied intelligence and humanoid robots, announced on Monday that it has successfully completed its A1+ and A2 funding rounds, without revealing the exact amount of the funding.

The A2 round was led by Huangpujiang Capital in partnership with Henan Investment Group’s Huirong Fund and Tsinghua Holding Capital. Other investors included Stone Venture, Fortune Capital, as well as six new investors: Guozhong Ventures, CCTV Fund, Nanshan Zhanxin Investment, Caixin Capital, Geely Xingyuan, and Welkin Capital.
Earlier in July, Engine AI completed its Pre-A++ and A1 financing rounds, raising nearly 1 billion yuan in total. According to Tianyancha data, the company has completed eight rounds of funding since the second half of 2024, six of which occurred in 2025, highlighting strong investor interest in the humanoid robotics sector.
Focus on Technological Innovation
Engine AI specializes in humanoid robots that combine advanced intelligence with highly agile motion capabilities. The company has independently developed joint modules and overcome key challenges in Sim2Real technology, creating a unique technological barrier. These innovations enable Engine AI’s robots to perform complex dance routines, flips, and high-speed running with millimeter-level precision and smooth control.
Based on these technologies, Engine AI has launched several products, including the lightweight companion robot SA02, humanoid robot PM01, and the full-size universal humanoid T800, establishing a graded product portfolio across bipedal and full-size formats for diverse application scenarios.
The T800, officially released on December 2, starts at 180,000 yuan. The 1.73-meter tall, 75-kilogram robot features Engine AI’s fully in-house developed integrated high-torque joint modules, micro-joint electromechanical technology, 360° omnidirectional LiDAR perception, multi-dimensional dexterous hands, and high-performance solid-state power batteries designed specifically for humanoid robots. These technologies enable peak torque, stable long-duration operation, and precise humanoid hand manipulation.
The T800 is available in four configurations—Basic, Open-Source, Pro, and Max—to suit applications in scientific research, patrol and inspection, commercial services, cultural and tourism entertainment, logistics, and industrial collaboration, supporting the company’s strategy for commercial deployment of full-size humanoid robots.
To support mass production, Engine AI has established a manufacturing line in Honghualing Industrial Zone of China's tech hub Shenzhen and plans to build a global manufacturing center in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in central China. These facilities will support large-scale delivery of the PM01, T800, and other models.
China’s Robotics Boom
China has emerged as a global leader in industrial and service robotics, with significant strong private-sector innovation. According to the China Robot Industry Alliance, China’s industrial robot market has maintained double-digit growth in recent years, driven by manufacturing automation, logistics, and emerging sectors such as humanoid robotics.
Humanoid robotics remains a high-potential segment within China’s broader robotics market, attracting substantial venture capital and research attention. Analysts predict that with advances in AI, sensing, and actuation, humanoid robots could increasingly be deployed in education, healthcare, service industries, logistics, and research. Companies like Engine AI, with integrated capabilities in hardware and AI, are well-positioned to lead commercialization and scale production.
Industry experts note that while adoption of humanoid robots is still in its early stages, technological breakthroughs in motion control, dexterous manipulation, and energy efficiency will likely accelerate growth over the next five years, particularly in China’s well-established industrial ecosystem and high-tech manufacturing hubs.
